This age-old question is still whispered among Loremasters the world over. The vast subterranean tunnelways that once connected the Dwarven realm along a single unbroken spine from Mountainholme to the Sunless Sea now lie dark and forgotten. 

No one knows why the Dwarves abandoned their underground holds, but today they roam the skies aboard the great Stoneships, kept aloft by knowledge and craftsmanship fully understood only by their ancestors, now long dead. Some believe the ships are failing even now, and that the Dwarves seek a way to restore their ancient empire before it’s too late. 

Now an artifact has been discovered that may put that prize within their grasp… or herald the final end of the Dwarven civilization.

In the Grande Eastern Mountains, the adventurers stumble across an item sought by a mysterious exiled Dwarven organization, kicking off a tense race between three different factions to uncover the mystery of what happened all those centuries ago — and to potentially determine the final fate of the Dwarves of the Broken Empires!

• Actively witness and participate in a perspective of the twilight of the Dwarven Empire.
• Navigate your way through three opposing factions:
• The Dwarven Skypriests: The current ruling caste that seeks to obscure their history and maintain their exile in the great Stoneships high above the earth;
• The Anvilheart Guild: An organization of exiled Dwarves that seek to rebuild the Dwarven empire beyond the constraints of its current theocracy;
• The Talyn Trading Society: A company as unscrupulous as they are wealthy, they seek to expand their illicit empire into arms dealing, buying up Dwarven artifacts to convert them into mighty weapons of war for the highest bidder.

The Skyward Exodus is an official 4- to 6-session expansion adventure for The Broken Empires RPG™, and the first of three chapters of The Dwarven Cataclysm. The .pdf includes the following:
